Bert's Fight Continues!
Sunday night I took ¼ Lunesta and was out by 10:30. Woke up at 3am and couldn't go back to sleep. Pretty standard stuff. Blah. Blah. Blah. Gonna try and cut down to less than ¼ a pill tonight. I didn't get a nap in today so it SHOULD be easier to fall asleep. The fight goes on but I'm starting to feel more relaxed about it.

hang in there Bert! and keep us posted. I like all your recent blog posts. And the video with Regis was so nice. I can imagine the joy on his face when her opened your package.
Bert - congratulations! I know you're not completely off lunesta yet, but keep it up and you will be. Don't worry if it takes a little longer than planned, just keep going. I had to wean myself off caffine recently due to an ulcer, and I am happy to say that after about 2 weeks, I was caffine free :)
Hi Bert ~
I wanted to lend you my support the morning you told us of your sleeping pill addiction but couldn't get through. I too have an issue with them. I had an accident 2-1/2 yrs. ago & had to sleep sitting up for almost 4 months and of course would not have been able to do so without them. It's like you say, they are not suppose to be addictive but they play with your mind. I feel paranoia coming on just thinking of going to sleep without them. About a year ago I started weaning myself off them by cutting them in half then went to only certain days of the week. Now I only use them on the weekends because my boyfriend snores! I feel like I'm a much lighter sleeper now because of using them. Anyway, hang in there, it'll get better & try different things to relax before laying down to go to sleep. Any form of excercise earlier in the day or evening helps me.
Good luck,
Judy
Hey Bert!
I just started lunesta two weeks ago because I would get real bad anxiety about going to bed. There is nothing more frustrating than tossing and turning for hours when you're tired and just want some sleep! I have been sleeping great now that I am on lunesta, so I worry how I will ever fall asleep without it. It's comforting to read how you are getting through it so thank you so much for sharing your experience!
I used to take ambien every night for about a year I have been through what you are going through. I had to take them when my husband traveled. Then trying to stop them was very scary until I switched to melatonin. They are in a little purple bottle at Wal-Mart. I now take 2 3mg tablets 60 minutes before I go to bed each night and I am golden. I purchase mine from Wal-Mart. Sorry I do not remember the name but if you need it let me know.
